Advising the underwriters on the IPO of Fibra Educa
Nader, Hayaux y Goebel advised Casa de Bolsa Credit Suisse (México), S.A. de C.V., Grupo Financiero Credit Suisse (México) (“Credit Suisse”) and Punto Casa de Bolsa, S.A. de C.V. (“Punto”), as lead underwriters, together with Casa de Bolsa Santander, S.A. de C.V., Grupo Financiero Santander México and Casa de Bolsa Banorte, S.A. de C.V., Grupo Financiero Banorte, as underwriters, in relation to a public offering of securities (certificados bursatiles fiduciarios inmobiliarios) (CBFIs) in the Mexican market with a issuance of MXN$9,430 million (considering “greenshoe”; approximately US$471.5 million).
This offering, made on 27 June 2018, is one of the biggest capital placement by a private company this year. Fibra Educa’s real estate certificates were priced at MXN$20 (US$1.04) each.
The funds raised will be used to acquire a portfolio of 87 properties in 25 states of Mexico. This is the first FIBRA in Mexico focused on the education sector. The initial portfolio is 100% occupied.
This high-profile transaction was extensively covered in national and international media.
