COFECE inicia investigación para determinar la probable existencia de barreras a la competencia que puedan generar efectos anticompetitivos en el mercado del servicio público de transporte ferroviario de carga y servicios y derechos relacionados

A través de un aviso publicado en el Diario Oficial de la Federación el 10 de enero de 2024, la Comisión Federal de Competencia Económica informó el inicio de una investigación con el fin de determinar la probable existencia de barreras a la competencia y libre concurrencia y/o insumos esenciales que puedan generar efectos anticompetitivos en el mercado del servicio público de transporte ferroviario de carga y servicios y derechos relacionados, a nivel nacional.

La investigación inició de oficio el 30 de noviembre de 2023 y podrá durar 120 días hábiles. Dicho plazo podrá ser ampliado hasta en dos ocasiones por periodos de hasta 120 días hábiles.

Through a notice published in the Official Gazette of the Federation on January 10, 2024, the Federal Antitrust Commission announced the initiation of an investigation to determine the probable existence of barriers to competition and free concurrence and/or essential inputs that may generate anticompetitive effects in the public railroad transportation services and related services and rights market, at the national level.

The investigation initiated ex officio on November 30, 2023, and may last 120 business days. This period may be extended up to two times for up to 120 business days.
