Mario specializes in capital markets, mergers & acquisitions, structured finance, cross-border lending, corporate governance and fintech. Mario has developed an expertise in complex public issuances, including CKDs (development capital certificates) FIBRAs (the Mexican equivalent of a U.S. REIT) and FIBRAs E (similar to U.S. MLPs), advising sponsors and underwriters. As an associate at NHG, Mario has been involved in several relevant transactions, advising, among others, CKD Infraestructura México on the design and creation of a novel public multi-Fibra E programme for an amount of US 2.5 billion, as well as MetLife on the sale its Mexican pension fund business.
Mario took part in the LL.M. Finance at the Institute for Law and Finance (Goethe University) at Frankfurt am Main, as a scholar of the Frankfurt Bar Association (Frankfurt Rechtsanwaltkammer) and its foundation (Stiftung der Hessischen Rechtsanwaltkammer). Afterwards, he worked at the Frankfurt offices of Hengeler Mueller, as part of their mergers & acquisitions team, focusing on sales of distressed businesses.
Mario graduated as an attorney (with honors) from the Universidad Iberoamericana and is fluent in German and English.
