NHG welcomes two new Partners

Nader, Hayaux & Goebel (NHG) is delighted to announce the addition of two new partners, José A. Noguera and Marcela Ánimas, effective January 1, 2024.

José A. Noguera, a senior associate at NHG, has been promoted to partner. He brings expertise in corporate M&A, corporate governance, joint ventures, investment funds, cross-border transactions, international commercial transactions, restructuring and workouts, and finance. José’s industry experience spans to automotive, mining, sports, industrial, banking, financial services and logistics.

During his tenure at NHG, José has led multiple M&A and workout transactions, and provided counsel to major international financing and industrial institutions on their equity and debt investments in Mexican companies. He has a strong track record in mergers and acquisitions in Mexico and Latin America.

Before NHG, José was a visiting attorney at a global law firm in Washington, DC, focusing on real estate investment trusts, fund formation, and mergers and acquisitions. He holds an LLM degree from the University of Chicago Law School and a law degree from Universidad Iberoamericana.

Marcela Ánimas, a highly esteemed environmental and natural resources lawyer with over 20 years of experience in Mexico, joins as a partner. With ample market recognition, Marcela has extensive experience advising various sectors and projects. Her expertise encompasses sustainability, ecological ordinance, environmental impact, efficient use of natural resources, corporate governance, environmental liability, divestitures, site abandonments, public policy, M&As, real estate transactions, and financial dealings for both public and private sectors.

The addition of Marcela to the partnership will enhance NHG’s ESG practice area, while strengthening the Firm’s capabilities in natural resources and environmental law.

Marcela comments “I am grateful and excited to join such a prestigious law firm. On this new venture I hope to foster synergies between legal teams, strengthen the ESG practice group and positively impact outcomes for clients and the Firm alike."

Marcela holds a bachelor’s degree in law from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM); a master’s degree in environmental policy and management from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in Spain and numerous post graduate diplomas on compliance, real estate, energy and environmental law from some of Mexico’s most prestigious Universities. Before joining NHG, Marcela was part of an elite Mexican firm and thereafter held her own legal practice.
