Our Fintech Practice Group is composed by a team of attorneys from different practice areas with shared expertise in regulatory financial and financial technology. Our Fintech Practice Group advises not only multinational financial institutions including commercial banks, e-money and payment institutions, finance companies, insurance companies and broker dealers, but also SMEs, Fintech start-ups and entrepreneurial clients. The Law to Regulate Financial Technology Institutions (“Fintech Law”) was enacted in Mexico on March 10, 2018 and most of the implementing regulation has already become effective. The Fintech Law is a milestone for the development of the Fintech industry in Mexico. Our Fintech Practice Group has been actively advising our clients on the impact and implication that the new legislation and regulation has on their businesses, and the new business models that may be implemented under the new legal framework.
