Our Telecoms Practice Group handles a wide range of corporate and finance transactions in the telecom sector, as well as complex related regulatory matters in the telecommunications, telephony, media, internet, satellite and broadcasting sectors.
Our Firm has handled some of the largest and most sophisticated transactions in the sector, such as the divestment of the Grupo Atento Mexican subsidiaries by Telefónica S.A., part of a USD$1.34 billion deal, and the headline Televisa – Grupo Salinas joint venture in Iusacell, and the ultimate sale of Iusacell to AT&T for USD$2.5 billion.

The Firm has represented major players in the sector, such as Grupo Salinas, along with certain key subsidiaries, including specifically Mexico’s third largest wireless telecommunications company, Grupo Iusacell, and the second largest mass media company in Mexico, TV Azteca.
The Firm also represents, among others, the second largest mobile phone operator in Mexico, Telefónica Movistar México, as well as Eutelsat (Satelites Mexicanos or Satmex), Mexico’s largest satellite operator.
