Our Environment & Water Resources Practice Group comprises a team of highly skilled professionals with extensive experience in a broad range of environmental matters, including ecological ordinances, environmental impact matters, hazardous substances, and GMO regulations, endangered species and wildlife protection, occupation of the federal maritime, terrestrial zone and other governmental lands, air emissions, decarbonization and climate change affairs, waste handling and recycling, remediation, and compensation of site contamination and in general the management of environmental damage liabilities. We have niche expertise in water resource regulations, reuse, and public policy.

Recent Experience
- Advised a significant beverage company on a comprehensive water resources due diligence process. This work included advisory for compliance with regulatory requirements, safeguarding critical water rights necessary for production forecasts, and identifying opportunities for administrative and tax benefits. We continue to assist with the implementation of recommended actions.
- Played a crucial role in advising a syndicate of 13 financial institutions in connection with a US$2.5 billion financing, governed by NY law, for Energía Mayakan (a subsidiary of ENGIE Group). The funding supports the development of a 694-kilometer pipeline to be integrated with the existing Mayakan pipeline. Our environmental and regulatory team was instrumental in the due diligence process and in negotiating key environmental clauses.
- Contributed to the team advising on acquiring a stake in an ice production company, providing critical legal insight into the transaction.
- Counseled a pharmaceutical company on navigating new ecological tax regulations within their jurisdiction, including exploring legal alternatives and remedies available under the law.
- Currently advising a leading food sector company on all environmental aspects of their operations and business enhancements, focusing on water management and compliance.
